Celine Dion Returns: 10 Paris Concerts Announced After Years of Silence

2026-03-31

Celine Dion has officially confirmed her highly anticipated return to the stage with a ten-show concert series in Paris, marking a triumphant comeback after nearly two years of silence due to a severe autoimmune condition.

A Return to the Spotlight

On Monday evening, the French-Canadian icon made her public reappearance during a heartfelt video message broadcast under the lights of the Eiffel Tower, coinciding with her birthday. In the video, Dion expressed deep gratitude to her fans for their prayers and support, stating, "I feel good, I am strong, I feel excited, of course a little nervous, but above all I am grateful for all of you."

While rumors first surfaced last week, French-Canadian newspaper La Presse initially reported that Dion would perform in Paris later this year. Subsequently, posters featuring titles from her iconic repertoire, including "Pour que tu m'aimes encore" and "Power of Love," appeared in Parisian streets, igniting speculation about her return. - afhow

However, the official announcement came through AEG Presents, which confirmed to VG that the artist will not only return but will perform ten concerts in Paris.

A Half Million Fans Await

The event, titled "Celine Dion Paris 2026," will be a five-week-long concert series at the Paris La Défense Arena, Europe's largest indoor venue with a capacity of 40,000 spectators. This means nearly half a million people will have the opportunity to hear her sing live.

The Paris concerts were originally scheduled for 2020 as part of Dion's "Courage World Tour" but were postponed due to the pandemic and later due to her health issues.

Overcoming a Rare Illness

In December 2020, Celine Dion was struck by the rare neurological condition known as "stiff person syndrome" (autoimmune stiffness syndrome). This condition causes muscle stiffness and spasms, making it difficult to move normally and perform.

Two planned concerts at Unity Arena in 2023 also had to be cancelled due to her health challenges. Her fight against the illness was documented in the 2024 film "I Am: Celine Dion."

Despite her success with 260 million sold albums, Dion has maintained a relatively low profile since the 2024 Paris Olympics, where she appeared as a closing act. Now, fans can look forward to her return from September 12 to October 14, with ticket sales beginning April 10 and artist proposals starting April 7.
